Biography
Abner embarked on his academic journey at the prestigious University of Toronto, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and Education in 2014. His major in French, coupled with a minor in Psychology and Biology, laid the foundation for a multifaceted approach to education. Eager to broaden his expertise, he pursued a Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology at Laurentian University in Sudbury in 2015.
Recognizing the evolving landscape of education, Abner furthered his qualifications with a post-baccalaureate in inclusive education at the University of Manitoba in 2022. In 2023, he achieved a Masters in Special Education from Laval University, solidifying his commitment to providing inclusive and specialized support to students.
Abner's professional journey led him to the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), where he made a significant impact in regions such as Markham, Richmond Hills, and Woodbridge. His expertise shines as an experienced French Immersion teacher at the elementary level and as a dedicated educator for math and sciences at the secondary level.
Abner Agenor's life is a story of dedication, continuous learning, and a profound belief in the potential of every student. As an educator, mentor, and advocate for inclusive education, he continues to inspire and empower the next generation.
In 2018, Abner embarked on a transformative journey, leaving familiar landscapes to answer the call of education echoing from the heart of Yellowknife. Over the past six years, he has become an integral part of the educational tapestry, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of students within the vibrant community of Yellowknife Catholic Schools.
Since his arrival, Abner has passionately devoted himself to the noble cause of education within the Yellowknife Catholic Schools. With six years of dedicated service, he has not only been an educator but a catalyst for positive change in the lives of the children under his guidance.
Abner goes beyond the role of an educator; he is a beacon of inspiration for the young minds he touches. Since his arrival in Yellowknife, he has been instrumental in shaping the academic journeys of countless students. His commitment to making a difference is evident in his unwavering dedication to helping children meet their academic goals.
